Service Call Troubleshooting Guide

If the Ri 1000X detects and identifies an issue, the screen will report a unique 'Service Call' which can simplify the troubleshooting process. Here are the most common ones, and how to solve them.

Service Calls

Service Call 900 - HRB Fuse Blown

Service Call 984 - DRV Circuit Temperature Abnormal

Service Call 988, 990, 991 - Clogging Error

Service Call 992 - Circulation Air Count Over

Service Call 996, 997 - Main Scan Encoder Sensor Error

Service Call 999 - Maintenance Step Motor Out of Home Position

Service Calls

Service Call 900 - HRB Fuse Blown

Service Call 900 indicates that the electrical components connecting the CTL and Carriage have shorted, typically damaging both parts.

Usually both the CTL and Carriage will need to be replaced to resolve this error- it is highly recommended to work with our Technical Support Team for additional guidance.

Service Call 984 - DRV Circuit Temperature Abnormal

Service Call 999 - Maintenance Step Motor Out of Home Position

This Service Call usually indicates that the maintenance station is jammed and requires a deep cleaning or replacement.

You can start by conducting the regular maintenance-- clean out the wiper blade and gaskets and restart the printer to see if the error persists.

If it does, remove the station and check the gears on the side. If they are jammed with dried ink, you can use tweezers and cleaning liquid to try and clear the jam.

If the error is not resolved, the maintenance station may need to be replaced. Please work with our Technical Support Team for additional guidance.
