The next options in your Printer Settings will allow you to adjust how the printer handles transmitted print jobs. The first option is the Auto Advance which you can set to On or Off by have it checked or unchecked. With the RICOH Ri 3000 and Ri 6000 printers it is not necessary to wait until one job is complete before sending the next job.
While the first job is printing, you can prepare and send another print job. If the second job is transferred and ready before the first job is finished printing you will see the message New Job Available in red on your control panels print screen.
If the Auto Advance is on in your printer settings, the second job will appear on your print screen as soon as the first job is finished printing. All you will need to do is press the print button to print the next queued job. If the Auto Advance is set to off, you will need to press the right arrow key to access the second job before you can print it.
By default, the printer will wait for the entire job to transfer before you are able to hit the print button. You have the option of changing this from Yes to No using your right arrow key. If this is set to No you can begin printing the job while it is still transferring to the printer. This can speed up production time; however, printing a job before it is fully transferred can lead to communication errors or freezing if the job does not transfer properly.
The final option in your Transmitted Jobs Handling menu is to set the storage limit of print jobs in your control panel. You can use the arrow keys to change this setting to store more or less jobs in your control panels internal memory. Storing too many files in your printers internal memory can potentially slow things down and lead to communication errors which is why the cap is set at 20 jobs. If you would like to, you can tell the printer to store even less than that.
When your storage has reached the pre-determined limit, the printer will begin replacing the oldest job with the newest job.
